Now thru May - Campaign for Arizona Native Dems

We are again coordinating postcarding for the Arizona Native Dems (formerly Northeast AZ Native Dems). Our (free!) postcards are specific to that group. Current message is about checking voter registration (often an issue in AZ, especially for tribal members).  AZ-01 and AZ-06 are Swing Left target districts so let's write postcards to help flip those districts! Pickup in Santa Cruz. To be mailed in May.

Past Work

Thank you for joining our voter registrations and canvassing in Reno, Nevada, Merced County Fair, Patterson, Merced College, UC Merced, Los Banos College, and the Los Banos community. Several wonderful engaging canvasses in Patterson.

Nevada was our top priority in 2022 and 2024 to defend and build the Senate. Critical down ballot races for democracy, reproductive health, and all our issues. 12 weekends canvassing in 2024 with up to 50 of us. Senator Catherine Cortez and Senator Jacky Rosen won by just one percentage point.

We also organized for special elections in 2025 including the crucial Proposition 50 towards flipping the House and perhaps the Senate in 2026. Thank You!

 

Here’s where our hard work made a difference in 2024

  • In Nevada; re-election of Senator Jacky Rosen

  • Dems held every competitive US House Seat and defended majorities in the state Assembly and State Senate.

  • In Arizona, Democrat Ruben Gallego is the new Senator-elect.

  • Democrat Adam Gray won district CA-13 by 187 votes.

CANVASSING/VOTER REGISTRATION 

  • Swing Left SC was the lead group in Nevada with 187 canvassing shifts as well as poll watching and ballot curing. And as support for other groups from the Bay Area.

  • 42 of our members completed multiple canvassing shift in CA-13 for Adam Gray. 

  • Many weekend canvassing trips to CA-22 for Rudy Salas

  • Voter Registration at Los Banos & Merced County colleges and at the County Fair.

VIRTUAL PHONE BANKING

  • We completed 288 virtual phone bank shifts in conjunction with our partner the Bay Area Coalition calling voters in Nevada, Arizona and the Central Valley.

LETTER WRITING

  • Swing Left SC volunteers wrote 40,000 + Vote Forward letters to voters in our target districts and races as well as other important races throughout the country.  

POSTCARD WRITING

  • Approximately 60 volunteers wrote 15,128 postcards to native voters in Arizona as well as thousands of postcard to voters in CA-22

VOTER ASSISTANCE HOTLINE

  • Swing Left SC volunteers, after significant training,  answered voters’ questions across the country on all aspects of the voting process.
